VIDEO: A New Accident on the Garni-Lanjazat-Eraskh Main Water Pipeline

Veolia Armenia has released an amateur video from Lanjazat, informing that a new accident has occurred on the Garni-Lanjazat-Eraskh main water pipeline.

“Just two days ago, a major accident was resolved on the Garni-Lanjazat-Eraskh main water pipeline in the gorge adjacent to Lanjazat. And now, a new accident has occurred about 600-700 meters away, on another mountain,” the company reported. The pipe's crack originates from a ‘weld point', according to an initial assessment by an expert based on the video. It is suggested that either the pipe could not withstand the water pressure or the heavy soil has pulled down and separated the welded pipes.

In any case, the Eastern Regional Administration's emergency brigade has already started working on site. We hope they will resolve the accident within the announced timeframe,” the company stated.
