Lebanon in Need of Assistance: Saad Hariri Appeals to World Leaders
The outgoing Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad Hariri, has called on global leaders to help his country secure credit lines for imports from friendly nations, as Lebanon faces its worst economic and financial crisis in the past decade, according to AP.
Hariri has sent letters to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, France, China, Russia, Italy, and the United States, urging them to assist in alleviating the crisis and facilitating the provision of food and raw materials.
The economic and financial crisis in Lebanon is the result of zero growth in the economy and enormous debt.
