Sargsyan Cannot Be Guilty in Such Matters, Says Barsegh Beglaryan

The newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’ reports: The charges against Serzh Sargsyan presented by the Special Investigative Service indicate that the criminal case also involves S. Sargsyan's close associate Barsegh Beglaryan and former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan. According to circulating rumors, former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan has been presented with a condition: either testify against S. Sargsyan or he will be detained. Karapetyan has complied and provided testimony.

According to the Special Investigative Service, an illegal scheme was in operation regarding the distribution of diesel fuel to agricultural enterprises. A company offering a lower price was rejected in favor of Barsegh Beglaryan's ‘Flash’ company, which offered a higher price.

In an exclusive interview with the newspaper, B. Beglaryan stated: “I don’t know what this is about, but in my sincere conviction, Serzh Sargsyan cannot be guilty in such matters. This is the first time I’m hearing about such a thing. Yes, Flash company belongs to me, but I have no knowledge of any connections with Serzh Sargsyan. We are very close with Serzh Sargsyan and have never hidden that, but I have no link with his actions and I am not aware of them.”
