Over 300 Companies in 43 Countries Fall Victim to Russian Hacker Attack
More than 300 companies worldwide have fallen victim to a cyber attack orchestrated by Russian national Maxim Yakubets and his associates. This was reported by Robert Jones, head of the UK’s National Cyber Crime Unit, as stated by РИА Новости.
According to estimates from British intelligence agencies, at least 300 companies in 43 countries have been affected by the hackers' activities, with the hackers' revenue reaching tens of millions of pounds and dollars. Furthermore, Jones suggested that the actual number of affected companies could be even higher.
It is noteworthy that in response to the attacks by Russian hackers, the United States has imposed sanctions on companies and individuals associated with the hackers in Russia.
