Former Cadastre Chief on New Appointment
The former head of the Cadastre Committee, Sarhat Petrosyan, wrote on his Facebook page: “The government's decision to appoint Suren Tovmasyan as the head of the Cadastre Committee is very pleasant and commendable. First and foremost, because the government did not bring back the former corrupt and negligent “best experts of the field,” but especially because Suren’s appointment is a very good response (if not a slap) to those expressing the dilettantish thought that ‘the cadastre is merely a registration body.’ I believe we also bear some responsibility for having managed to remove the cadastre from its simple status as a registry of real estate. I hope that work in this direction will continue even more consistently.”
