All Soldiers with Disabilities Will Start Receiving Pension
All former soldiers who have sustained disabilities during combat service will now receive a military pension, regardless of when the disability was incurred. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Gemafin Gasparyan during the discussion of the relevant draft law at the National Assembly session on December 5.
Presenting the draft law, he specifically noted that the decision is in accordance with the Constitutional Court's ruling dated July 12, 2019. Previously, disabilities were determined for a five-year period, after which, according to the law, the government no longer had the right to assign a military pension.
The Deputy Minister clarified, “The Constitutional Court has ruled that this is contrary to the Constitution, and we are now removing this limitation.”
