Fact: The Extension of the April Commission's Work Pursues Political Objectives

The newspaper 'Fact' reports: On May 31, 2019, a parliamentary investigative commission was established to examine the circumstances of the military operations that took place in April 2016. It is worth noting that it was created for a six-month term and was meant to conduct an investigation regarding the April four-day war.

Naturally, the six-month term has expired, and it was revealed yesterday that the question of extending the commission’s activities for another six months is included in the current session of the National Assembly.

In essence, it turns out that over the past six months, the commission has not recorded any tangible results and has not come to any 'sensational' revelations.

In this regard, the newspaper has received information that the question of extending the commission's work is simply pursuing political objectives, as it seeks to create an illusion that they are engaged in a crucial work and are preparing serious discoveries.

According to reports, this is primarily done to keep the topic of the April events and the military sector in the public's view on the political agenda. If we add that Defense Minister David Tonoyan has also expressed his opinion on the April war and provided clear clarifications in an open text, the picture becomes more comprehensive.
