Road Conditions: There Are Impassable Roads
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of December 1 at 08:30, there are impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass (from the side of Gegharkunik Province) is closed for trucks with trailers and is difficult to navigate for others. The Sotk-Karvachar road is also impassable. Snowfall is reported in the cities of Amasia, Ashotsk, and Artik in Shirak Province, as well as in the section known as 'Saravan-Zanger' in Syunik Province.
According to the information received from the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires. Construction work is underway on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Baghratashen road, and as a result, the road section is closed for trucks. An alternative route has been established via Dilijan-Noyemberyan-Baghratashen.
