Professionals Working with Any Political Authority Have Three 'Legitimate Expectations'

Ruben Melikyan, co-founder of the NGO "Legal Path," writes on his Facebook page: "Professionals working with any political authority in one way or another—real professionals—have just three 'legitimate expectations.'

1) CLARITY. If you do not have a clear understanding of what is required of you, under what circumstances you will receive a 'bonus' and under what circumstances you will face a 'malus,' if you are not confident that the conditions for 'bonuses' and 'maluses' will not change arbitrarily, then your expectation of clarity is not met.

2) HONESTY. If you are not confident that for some reasons (especially for trivial reasons) you will not be 'sacrificed,' then your expectation of honesty is not met.

3) USEFULNESS. If you are not confident that you are creating public value, that you are being helpful, and that the benefits you provide will not be undermined due to the intent or negligence of others (such as representatives of the political authority), then your expectation of usefulness is not met.
