Marukyan Appeals to Pashinyan to Provide Urgent Assistance to Lebanese Armenians
The leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" parliamentary faction, Edmond Marukyan, has appealed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with a proposal to provide urgent assistance to the Armenian community in Lebanon.
"As many of you are aware, large-scale protests and unrest have been ongoing for a considerable time in the Republic of Lebanon. This situation poses a threat to the safety of the local Armenian community, which constitutes a significant number in Lebanon. In this context, the Armenian government must support our hundreds of thousands of compatriots, ensuring they do not feel abandoned in this crisis.
Thus, we have proposed the implementation of an urgent program to accept representatives of the Armenian community of Lebanon in Armenia and provide them with the necessary assistance," Marukyan stated in his letter.
