A Special Procedure for Armenians to Obtain Driver's Licenses in Russia
Citizens of Armenia will not have to take the same driving test as Russian citizens to obtain a driver's license in Russia. A special procedure for Armenians needs to be established for this purpose. This statement was made by Tatiana Moskalkova, the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, as reported by РИА Новости.
“I have been working on this issue for years. The problem is that without the formalization of driving licenses in Russia, it is also challenging for drivers. I believe they should not undergo the same testing process as Russian citizens. There should be a special procedure for them, and we need to create conditions and training opportunities that will ensure they can utilize the licenses obtained in Armenia while in Russia,” Moskalkova stated.
The Human Rights Commissioner added that one solution to the problem could be the establishment of universal rights across all five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Furthermore, she did not rule out the possibility of swiftly resolving the issue through a bilateral agreement between Russia and Armenia.
