Emergency Situation in Ararat Region: Sewage Water Filling Several Building Courtyards
Today, on November 25, SHAMSHYAN.com has received numerous calls from residents of Masis city who want the Ararat regional administration, the Masis city hall, and other relevant authorities to finally rescue the residents of several buildings in the city’s 3rd neighborhood from the stench and unsanitary conditions.
The media reports that in buildings 10, 12, 9, and several others, according to residents’ statements, sewage has been overflowing into the streets for more than one to two months, creating an unsanitary environment throughout the area.
In a conversation with a photojournalist, residents stated that they reached out to the Masis city hall, but received a “gigantic” response, indicating that the issue needed to be resolved by the utility services. This raises the question: doesn’t the utility service belong to the city hall?
Residents are urging Ararat region governor Garik Sargsyan to intervene so that at least some action is taken. “In summer, we are dying from the stench and the rotten smell, and in winter, we witness a sewage ice rink. When will this issue be resolved? The answer to that question probably only lies with Ararat governor G. Sargsyan and Masis mayor Davit Hambardzumyan. If the responsible parties had even once walked around the 3rd neighborhood, this problem could have been solved much sooner,” say the citizens.
