The State Revenue Committee Purchased a Commemorative Medal Worth 5 Million Drams Using Extrabudgetary Funds

The State Revenue Committee of Armenia purchased commemorative medals in November. Information about this became available to Tert.am following complaints within the Committee about the lack of rewards and encouragement for experienced long-term employees, while the same individuals and officials who 'present themselves well' are typically the ones being recognized and awarded with commemorative medals.

Tert.am clarified the purchases made by the Committee through documents related to procurement procedures. It was revealed that the Committee bought commemorative medals from the Central Bank of Armenia totaling 5 million 128 thousand drams. The purchase included 30 commemorative coins made from 925 sterling silver by 'Armenian Ceramics', each valued at 42,000 drams, along with 5 medals costing 36,600 drams each, featuring 'Saint Geghard', weighing 25 grams, and boxed with designs such as 'The Cauldron of Holy Myrrh', 'The Cross of Saint John the Baptist', 'The Holy Sign', 'The Right Hand of Saint Gregory the Illuminator', and 'The Cross with Relics of Saint George', with five pieces of each.

Additionally, the Committee purchased 30 medals commemorating 'The Five Years of the Eurasian Economic Union', with each medal valued at 27,000 drams, and 30 medals for 'Yerevan-2800', each costing 30,000 drams. A set of 10 silver commemorative coins was also acquired, with each set valued at 106,000 drams.
