Emergency Incident at Goris Penitentiary: Inmate Attempts Suicide

On November 21, an unusual incident occurred at the Goris penitentiary when a 35-year-old inmate attempted to take his own life. According to sources from Sputnik Armenia, the suicide attempt was thwarted by the staff of the correctional facility.

Reports indicate that the inmate had tied a sheet to the bars of the window and was hanging from it. Within moments, staff entered the cell and cut the sheet, saving his life. Investigations are currently underway to determine the motives behind this drastic action.
