Shepherd Lays on the Railway Track in Aragatsotn, Fails to Move Before Train Arrives
Yesterday, a 50-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train on the section of the South Caucasian Railway leading from Artani village to Aragatsavan. According to Sputnik Armenia, the man, who was a shepherd and was grazing his herd in the area, had laid down on the railway track, likely to rest.
The train driver noticed a person lying on the track from a distance and activated the emergency signals while also applying the brakes. The man eventually saw the train and attempted to get off the tracks, but he could not make it in time.
He was transported to Talin Hospital, where doctors fought for about two hours to save his life; however, the injuries he sustained were incompatible with life, and he ultimately succumbed to them.
