Third Criminal Case Opened by Russian Investigative Committee in Blagoveshchensk Shooting Incident, Dmitry Medvedev Also Comments
A third criminal case has been opened in connection with the shooting incident at the Blagoveshchensk College, resulting in fatalities and injuries. This was reported by РИА Новости.
Previously, two cases had been initiated related to the lack of proper security at the college and the murders of two individuals on hooligan motives. The newly opened case is based on Article 293, Part 1 of the Russian Criminal Code, which pertains to 'negligence.'
As previously reported, a student at Blagoveshchensk College opened fire on fellow classmates. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev addressed the shooting, emphasizing that such incidents are not rare and urged the Ministry of Education to closely investigate the situation. 'Despite the measures taken, such incidents occur,' Medvedev added.
He also instructed Education Minister Olga Vasilyeva to analyze the accountability of local education leaders in the Amur region.
