Three Correctional Officers Arrested
In connection with an illegal drug trafficking case involving the involvement of correctional officers and the abuse of official authority, a criminal case was initiated on November 12, 2019, at the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Justice "Armavir" Correctional Facility. This was done under Article 266, Part 2, Clause 3, Article 268, Part 1, and Article 308, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The case has since been transferred to the jurisdiction of the RA Special Investigative Service for further investigation.
Three professionals from the security division of the "Armavir" Correctional Facility were arrested: Senior Justice Officer S. M., Junior Officer G. G., and Second-Grade Specialist, Junior Justice Officer S. G.
Note: The suspect or accused is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the established procedures of the Republic of Armenia's Criminal Procedure Code by a court judgment that has come into legal force.
