Car Customs Clearance Prices Set to Rise Sharply

During a session of the National Assembly, Mikayel Melkumyan, a member of the BHK faction, presented a bill aimed at easing customs clearance for vehicles imported by companies starting January 1. As a reminder, this is the time when customs clearance prices for cars imported by ordinary citizens are set to rise sharply based on EAEU regulations.

Melkumyan's bill had received a negative conclusion, but he attempted to defend it during the Assembly meeting. Babken Tunyan, a member of the My Step majority, explained why they oppose the adoption of this law.

“Our 20-25 thousand citizens could face a dilemma if this law is passed, as the 50-60 thousand cars that have been added this year belong to our 20-25 thousand citizens who are waiting to sell them after January 1. The adoption of this law could create problems for them,” Tunyan said.
