30-Year-Old Driver Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Today, on November 11, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Kotayk Province. Around 18:50, 30-year-old Narek Davtyan, a resident of Yerevan, struck a pedestrian with his Mercedes Sprinter vehicle (license plate 808 PP 01) on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in the administrative territory of Abovyan.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, who reported from the scene, the driver did not flee the scene. He called the Traffic Police and an ambulance; however, the doctors who arrived confirmed the death of the approximately 50-year-old man who was hit.

By the order of the investigator S. Sedrakyan, who is leading the investigation at the scene, the driver was taken to the hospital to determine his level of sobriety, while the vehicle was transferred to the special area of the Kotayk Police Department.

The police and investigative department are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
