Former Governor Trdat Sargsyan Questioned in Colonel's Assault Case

The newspaper ‘Iravunk’ reports that former Governor of Vayots Dzor, Trdat Sargsyan, has recently been questioned regarding an incident that occurred on September 18 in Yeghenadzor, where Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkrtchyan was brutally assaulted.

According to information received by ‘Iravunk’, Sargsyan resigned from his position due to this incident. When approached to confirm this information, the former governor stated, “I am not answering any questions regarding this case. I only want to ask if you are questioning me or not. The preliminary investigation will conclude, and you will know. I cannot say anything right now, I am sorry, but I will not answer.”

It should be noted that as part of the criminal case initiated as a result of the incident, Trdat Sargsyan’s assistant, Harutyun Grigoryan, has been arrested. For more details, refer to today’s edition of the newspaper.
