A New Apple Statue Installed in Nor Geghi: The First Apple Festival Held in Armenia
In the community of Nor Geghi in the Kotayk Province, the first apple festival in Armenia is taking place today. This was announced in an interview with NEWS.am by the Mayor of Nor Geghi, Vardan Papyan.
"The events related to the festival will start at 15:00, and we plan to open the Apple Statue. It is a metal statue created by the artist Sarkis Babakhanian. The statue is unique in Armenia," he said.
The mayor emphasized that the apple is the brand of Nor Geghi, which is why they decided to celebrate it. During the festival, visitors can expect tastings of various apple varieties, numerous dishes and beverages made from apples, an exhibition-sale of handmade souvenirs, and, of course, the preparation and serving of a four-meter-long apple pie. The festival will be accompanied by Armenian national dances and music.
Throughout the event, the economic, cultural, and tourism potential of the Nor Geghi community will be showcased.
