Syrian Army Takes Control of Manbij and Surrounding Areas

The Syrian government forces have fully restored control over the city of Manbij and the surrounding areas. This was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is also known that American troops have withdrawn from their military bases in the area. Furthermore, there are reports that Russian forces are set to be deployed to the American military bases in Manbij.

The American magazine Newsweek, citing a Pentagon anonymous source, reported that the US and Russia have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of military bases.

Earlier, it was reported that the Kurdish groups had reached an agreement with Damascus to deploy Syrian government troops along the Turkey-Syria border.
