"Istanbul Convention Will Not Reach National Assembly This Year" - Rustam Badasyan
The Minister of Justice of Armenia, Rustam Badasyan, stated during a conversation with reporters on August 26 that, regarding the Istanbul Convention, there is "almost no chance that the Istanbul Convention will reach the National Assembly this year."
According to the minister, he has "exhausted this topic enough." All possible arguments and counterarguments have already been heard. He added, "Until we receive a response from the Venice Commission, which will be by October, and until we reconsider it in the government and send it to the Constitutional Court, that is a process that needs to be followed," Badasyan told reporters.
