30-Year-Old Man Dies in New York After Elevator Unexpectedly Falls

A man in New York died after an elevator unexpectedly fell as he was exiting, ABC News reports.

In the early morning, 30-year-old Samuel Charles Weisbrod was in the process of exiting the elevator when the doors began to close, and it suddenly detached and fell. At that moment, the man was caught between the doors. He died on the scene.

There were also three other people in the elevator, who were rescued by firefighters.

Residents of the building reported that the elevator had been experiencing persistent issues.
