Activist Exits Meeting with Prime Minister Halfway, Claims Comments Were Irrational
Activist Anna Shahnazaryan, who participated in a meeting with the Prime Minister regarding the Amulsar issue at Baghramyan 26, left the room midway through the discussion. In a conversation with journalists, she stated, "The Prime Minister spent thirty minutes outlining the process, claiming that the Government had tried to clarify the situation, but the report and the facts were misrepresented to supposedly conclude from the Investigative Committee that the risks are manageable, and there is no impact on the environment or Jermuk. However, the reality is that the opposite is stated."
Shahnazaryan noted that the Prime Minister's words did not convince her, emphasizing that everyone is capable of reading and evaluating the situation. She added that, legally, the people are the decision-makers in our country, and the subsoil belongs to the people. She maintained that scientific research still does not provide grounds for any actions, yet even the scientific studies were attempted to be presented in a contradictory manner.
"For me, this is an act of violence against our tolerance and reason, and we must not allow this to happen. What I heard from Mr. Pashinyan was not rational," she said.
