«Ժամանակ» newspaper reports: “The situation at Lake Sevan is of a catastrophic nature. The Ministry of Environment has presented a full list of reasons for the lake's blooming, aimed at shifting responsibility from itself and the authorities, suggesting that what has happened is objective and beyond the control of the government, citing climatic changes, lack of precipitation, intensity of winds, etc.

Meanwhile, experts insist that there are three real reasons linked to the government’s inaction or criminal practices: the use of lake water for irrigation, which exceeded the legally stipulated amount last year, reckless destruction of fish stocks, and uncontrolled waste dumping into the lake.”
