Stabbing Incident in Abovyan

The investigative department of the Kotayk Regional Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the stabbing of a 34-year-old man.

On May 14, 2019, at 18:45, a report was received by the Kotayk Police from the "R. Harutyunyan Abovyan Medical Center" LLC stating that a resident of Abovyan, born in 1984, had sought medical assistance for "stab wounds to the left side of the chest and abdomen" and reported that he had been stabbed.

On May 14, 2019, a criminal case was initiated in the Abovyan Investigative Division of the Kotayk Regional Investigative Committee under the first part of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The 34-year-old man has been recognized as the victim.

During the preliminary investigation, investigative actions and operational-search measures were carried out, revealing several circumstances of the incident, including the location of the incident and the identity of the alleged perpetrator, who is a resident of the Kotayk region born in 1986. He has been arrested.

To clarify significant circumstances of the criminal case, forensic medical and forensic examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing.
