An Administrative Procedure Launched Regarding the Incident at the Ophthalmological Center
The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia reports that on May 9, 2019, a number of media outlets disseminated information indicating that six patients at the 'S. V. Malayan Ophthalmological Center' had received injections of the 'Avastin' drug, leading to a deterioration in their vision and subsequent surgeries.
In response to the aforementioned reports, the Health and Labor Inspection Body has initiated an administrative procedure to conduct an inspection at the 'S. V. Malayan Ophthalmological Center'.
Results will be communicated upon the conclusion of the administrative proceedings.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Health's spokesperson, Alina Nikoghosyan, denied the claim that vision loss was caused by the medication.
