Abuses During Street Renovations in Gyumri

The Shirak regional investigation department of the RA Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of apparent abuses that occurred within the framework of the program "Participatory Monitoring for Improved and Quality Roads in Gyumri."

On April 17, 2019, the Shirak regional prosecutor's office received a summary analysis prepared by a non-governmental organization as part of the same program. According to this report, based on the observations made by the organization's monitoring group members, deviations from established norms were detected during the renovation work of several streets in Gyumri city, which has been ongoing since July 1, 2018.

As a result, a criminal case has been initiated at the Shirak regional investigation department of the RA Investigative Committee under the first part of Article 308 and the first part of Article 214 of the RA Criminal Code. A preliminary investigation is underway.
