Another Charred Body Found in Opel: Details from the Tragic Accident in Armavir

New details have emerged regarding the tragic car accident that occurred on the road from the village of Arshaluysh in Armavir province to Aknalich.

On May 5, at 10:54 AM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reported to the 911 service that vehicles involved in an accident on the Yerevan-Armavir highway needed to be removed. Firefighters were requested due to safety concerns.

An operational group from the regional emergency rescue department headed to the scene.

The rescuers checked for the presence of gas in the gas cylinders and removed them from the roadway in cooperation with police officers.

Within the Opel vehicle, a charred body of K.G. (born in 1991) was also discovered.

Earlier, it was reported that at 12:00 AM on May 5, an emergency call was received indicating that a car loaded with gas cylinders was on fire in the section from the village of Arshaluysh to Aknalich.

It was determined that on the left side of the Yerevan-Armavir road, 10 km mark, a collision occurred between a ZIL-130 truck loaded with gas cylinders (10 units, capacity not determined) driven by A.E. (born in 1982) and an Opel vehicle driven by K.G. (born in 1993). Following the collision, the gas cylinders were dislodged and fell onto the roadway, and one cylinder exploded and ignited.

The fire was contained by 00:50 and extinguished by 01:20.

Both vehicles were completely burned.

During the site inspection, the charred body of an unidentified citizen was discovered.
