Beyond Jealousy Towards the Ruling Political Force, I See No Other Basis: Hakob Badalyan
Political commentator Hakob Badalyan expressed his views on Facebook, stating that in the reactions against Citizen's Day, he sees no motivation or basis other than jealousy towards the ruling political force. He remarked, "To say that it is only this day, or that one cannot become a citizen on a holiday, and so on, is indeed true. However, if the existence of Citizen’s Day does not signify anything in this regard, then why does it bother you? Therefore, what is the reason for focusing so much on this issue? I see nothing but jealousy. Jealousy is understandable, but the issue at hand is no longer Citizen's Day; opposing it is a form of self-deception. It is in the interest of all citizens that social-political actors quickly move out of this jealous mode and transition to a framework of concrete agenda proposals for citizens."
