Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's speech on April 24 as a new level of denial of the Armenian Genocide and "justification for ethnic cleansing." He has called on the international community to respond to the hateful rhetoric of the Turkish president.

Pashinyan reacted to Erdogan's speech on April 24, a memorial day when Armenians around the world paid tribute to the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. However, the Turkish leader again denied one of the greatest atrocities of the 20th century, referring to it as the "1915 Armenian relocation."

"Labeling all Armenians of the Ottoman Empire, who were subjected to mass killings and death marches, as 'Armenian rebels and their supporters,' killing 1.5 million people, and calling that 'the most logical behavior' is not only a new level of denial but also a justification for the murder of an entire nation," Pashinyan wrote in a tweet.

"First and foremost, such a statement on April 24 is a deep insult to the Armenian people and a speech of extreme hatred by Erdogan personally. The world must not remain silent," Pashinyan added.
