Will Gagik Tsarukyan Meet with Protesting Employees of Ararat Cement? Iveta Tonoyan

The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, has been briefed on the situation regarding Ararat Cement. This was stated to NEWS.am by Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Prosperous Armenia faction.

"We are aware from the press about the situation at Ararat Cement. Mr. Tsarukyan has been informed about the circumstances," she noted.

When asked if Gagik Tsarukyan plans to meet with the protesting employees, she stated that she could not answer the question at this time.

It is noteworthy that employees of Ararat Cement LLC are on strike. They were recently informed that the plant will be closing in two months, and several hundred employees will become unemployed. On Friday evening, employees were notified that layoff notices would be distributed. This morning, the employees refused to accept the notices. They are demanding a meeting with Gagik Tsarukyan.
