Pashinyan Starts to Worry About Statistical Data. Does Avinyan Have a Connection? 'Fact'
'Fact' newspaper reports that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has recently begun to express concern over the data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia. According to sources within the government, the head of the Statistical Committee, Stepan Mnatsakanyan, has been seen increasingly in the primary government building, consulting with Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
These meetings are reportedly taking place at the personal instruction of the Prime Minister. There are rumors that Mnatsakanyan only releases 'official' data after consulting with Avinyan.
Further sources indicate that Pashinyan has ordered that no figures be published without prior agreement. This is not so much to 'manipulate' the data but rather to ensure a proper presentation of both positive and negative indicators to the public within the context of the 'economic revolution.'
It is noteworthy that there has been actual inflation in the first quarter, which does not correspond unambiguously with the criteria for the 'economic revolution.' This is why, in recent days, positive figures have been regularly released.
