Body of 47-Year-Old Man Found with Gunshot Wound to the Head in Ararat Region

A mysterious and tragic incident has occurred in the Ararat region. At around 20:30, the Masis police department received a call reporting a body of a man near a pond close to the "Sis" sand pits in the city of Masis.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, police and investigators discovered the body of 47-year-old Arthur Avagyan, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Preliminary information suggests that A. Avagyan had visited the area with friends for fishing. According to his friends, he separated from them, and some time later, a gunshot was heard. Afterward, he was found dead along with the firearm.

Investigative materials are being prepared by the investigative department regarding the incident. A series of examinations have been ordered by the investigator, including forensic, fingerprint, ballistic, and trace examinations.
