VIDEO: Marmashen Leader Embezzles Funds meant for Veterans

Based on operational information received from the National Security Service, measures undertaken by the police's main department for combating organized crime, the Shirak regional department, and the Akhuryan division have revealed that the leader of the Marmashen community, utilizing his official position and in agreement with community staff, inserted clearly false information and entries into official documents. In June and July of 2018, under the pretense of bonuses for community veterans, he illegally withdrew amounts ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 drams from the community budget.

The Police of the Republic of Armenia inform that these funds were not distributed to the veterans and have been embezzled.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 179 (Embezzlement or Misappropriation) and Article 314 (Official Forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. An investigation is underway.
