Will People Resort to Growing Tobacco? MP on Cigarette Price Hike

Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the parliament from the 'My Step' faction, wrote on his Facebook page: "In the context of combating smoking, the only thing that will happen due to the rise in cigarette prices is that the tobacco industry will be brought to its knees, and the national masses will be forced to grow tobacco themselves—accompanied by a large 'black' market. Let me not forget to mention that another thing will happen: the GDP and budget revenues will significantly shrink, while unemployment will rise substantially. As for how healthy tobacco smokers will be, I leave that to your judgment."
