Gunman Opens Fire After Being Laid Off in the U.S., Leaving 5 Dead and Injured

A worker at the Henry Pratt Company in Illinois, USA, opened fire at the workplace after being informed of his termination. This was reported by ABC 7, citing sources within law enforcement.

At this time, 5 people are confirmed dead, including 4 police officers. Additionally, several civilians have been injured.

The shooter has been identified as 45-year-old Gary Martin. He had been employed at the company for 15 years, but after hearing about his dismissal, he opened fire during a meeting, then exited the business premises and continued shooting.

As of now, police are investigating the shooter's motive and whether the attack had been premeditated.
