Extraordinary Incident: 33-Year-Old Stabs Aunt Multiple Times in the Neck and Chest

Today, February 2, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 4:00 PM, the police department of the Erebuni district received a report from the Erebuni Medical Center that the duty team of the Yerevan 1-03 ambulance had transported a citizen with a diagnosis of "extremely severe" condition. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a group from the police department of Erebuni, headed by the department chief, Deputy Commander Vardan Vardanyan, along with a group from the Investigation Committee of Armenia's Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts, led by Justice Major General Artur Goyunyan, went to the hospital.

The police and investigators determined that the victim is 62-year-old Venera Mirzoyan, a resident of Leningradyan Street in Yerevan, who, according to doctors, is incapable of providing an explanation regarding the incident.

Furthermore, it was established that the victim was taken to the hospital from 19 Arin-Berd Street in the Erebuni administrative district.

According to information received by a photojournalist, the perpetrator, 33-year-old Karen Mirzoyan, a resident of Shirak Street in Yerevan, stabbed his aunt, V. Mirzoyan, multiple times in the neck and chest area. After the attack, he called the police, and he was subsequently taken to the Erebuni police department by the first company of the patrol police division of the Yerevan police.

G. Shamshyan reported that the investigation team also discovered the knife used in the crime, which was seized by Senior Investigator T. Mirzoyan's decision.

According to information from the photojournalist, the motive for the stabbing was a dispute regarding the ownership of the residence on Leningradyan Street.
