Bribery Case Revealed in Upcoming Elections
A criminal case has been initiated in the Yerevan City Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts regarding the giving and receiving of bribes in connection with the extraordinary parliamentary elections of the Republic of Armenia.
On December 7, 2018, operational data was received at the Yerevan City Department of the Police regarding an incident where a citizen was giving bribes to voters during the election campaign for the extraordinary parliamentary elections to be held on December 9, 2018. This act was obstructing the voters' free exercise of their electoral rights.
During the preparation of materials, operational and investigative measures were taken, resulting in the acquisition of factual data regarding the same individual offering bribes to several voters to vote for one of the candidates, as well as voters receiving these bribes.
