Trump Does Not Consider Deploying Troops in Iran, CNN
U.S. President Donald Trump is not considering the option of deploying American military forces in Iran as part of a possible intervention. A White House official informed CNN, commenting on the steps being discussed by Washington in light of the situation in Iran.
Previously, some American media outlets reported that various scenarios for possible strikes against Iran had been presented to the president amid ongoing protests in the country, and that Trump was seriously discussing the likelihood of military action.
According to the White House official, the president is considering other options, but the deployment of ground troops is not among the alternatives being discussed.
In the past, Donald Trump has warned Iranian authorities that if they kill protesters, the consequences will be very bad. He has also stated that the United States is prepared to 'help' Iran without specifying the nature of possible actions.
