Trump Gives Green Light to Strengthen Sanctions Against Russia

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has announced that U.S. President Donald Trump has given the "green light" for strengthening sanctions against Russia through his bill. "After a highly productive meeting with President Trump today on a number of issues, he has greenlit the bipartisan sanctions bill against Russia that I have been working on for months alongside Senator Blumenthal and many others," Graham wrote on the X social network.

Graham also expressed hope that a vote on the bill will take place "as early as next week." He and his Democratic colleague Richard Blumenthal introduced the legislation earlier in April of last year.
