US to Initiate Criminal Proceedings Against Mariner Tanker Crew: White House
The White House has announced that the United States intends to initiate criminal proceedings against the crew of the "Mariner" tankers. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the tankers were part of Venezuela's shadow fleet and illegally transported Venezuelan oil, violating U.S. sanctions.
It is noteworthy that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that the seizure of the "Mariner" tanker in the Atlantic Ocean is linked to the blockade of sanctioned oil from Venezuela.
