The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has informed lawmakers that the aggressive rhetoric of the Trump administration regarding Greenland aims to exert pressure on Denmark during negotiations and does not signal a declaration of military invasion, according to the WSJ.

He noted that the main goal remains the integration of Greenland into the US, although the White House simultaneously insists that the use of military force cannot be ruled out.

It should be recalled that earlier, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed the opinion that US ambitions over Greenland could threaten the existence of NATO.
