P Diddy Appeals to Court
American rapper and producer P Diddy (real name: Sean Combs) has appealed to the court to review his prison sentence, according to Variety. The artist's lawyers have urgently filed a complaint with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York.
P Diddy argues that the judge was excessively harsh and erred in his sentencing. His attorneys highlight that defendants accused of similar crimes typically receive sentences of up to 15 months, whereas the artist was sentenced to 50 months in prison.
Recall that on October 4, a New York court sentenced P Diddy to over four years in prison. The producer was found guilty of transporting individuals across borders for the purpose of prostitution. In addition to the prison term, the court has ordered him to pay a fine of $500,000.
