Major Fire in Japan Burns 170 Buildings
A major fire has broken out in the coastal city of Oita, Japan, resulting in the destruction of more than 170 buildings. The blaze raged throughout the night and is not yet fully extinguished, according to Reuters.
Approximately 175 residents have been evacuated from the affected area, and one person is still reported missing. The fire has leveled numerous homes, and local media reports indicate that it has also spread to nearby forested slopes.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
