Winter Tire Requirement Begins November 15: Ministry of Internal Affairs Issues Warning
From November 15 to March 31, the operation of vehicles without appropriate winter tires will be prohibited. This was announced by the police of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Specifically, the operation of a vehicle will be prohibited if:
1) light passenger cars and freight vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 tons do not have winter tires installed,
2) the tread depth of winter tires designed for operation on icy or snow-covered road conditions is 4 millimeters or less during traffic on such roads.
Administrative liability measures will be enforced for violations of the established requirements. The primary goal of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to create a safe environment for the life and health of citizens.
Dear road users, the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges you to adhere to traffic safety rules, acquire winter tires with a permissible tread, and exhibit conscious, law-abiding behavior.
