Europe Has Abandoned Independence Following the US, Says Russia's Security Council
Europe has abandoned an independent political path and has followed the example of the United States with the aim of forming a unipolar world. This statement was made by Alexey Shevtsov, Deputy Secretary of Russia's Security Council, during an international conference on Eurasian security held in Minsk.
According to Shevtsov, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Europe had a unique opportunity to become one of the centers of a new multipolar world. However, the official noted that this chance was not seized, and European countries preferred to move along the political path set by the United States.
In his observations, this decision has limited Europe’s strategic independence and impacted its role in the process of shaping global security.
