Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Urgency of Signing the Armenian-Azerbaijani Agreement
Georgia is closely monitoring the ongoing dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia and hopes that a peace agreement will be signed in the near future, stated the head of Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bokeria.
“We have always said and will reiterate that Georgia is genuinely interested in strengthening peace and stability in our region. We are pleased that we had the opportunity to hold a trilateral meeting on April 17. This was the first meeting of its kind where the Deputy Foreign Ministers of all three countries gathered in Tbilisi to discuss regionally significant issues. We believe that we have the potential to continue cooperation between the three countries in this format,” Bokeria announced.
She emphasized the importance of the processes occurring in the region, as well as the necessity of cooperation and partnership among the countries in this context. “The current geopolitical situation can be seen as a certain opportunity for the benefit of Georgia and Azerbaijan, and by considering those interests, we can develop broad cooperation with other countries in the region, utilizing the potential that exists under these conditions,” stated Bokeria.
