I Have No Connection to the Arrests of the Priests: Father Aram
The arrests of the leader of the Aragatsotn diocese and five priests were reportedly based on a notification from Father Aram. ‘24News’ has contacted Father Aram to clarify the news. The priest stated that he learned about the raids from the media and has no information regarding them.
When asked to clarify, he answered that there had been no investigative actions at his home or at the church. ‘So, I don’t understand, how were the Vicar and 5 priests arrested? I am hearing about this from you. I also hear from you that it was based on my statements. I have had no connection with anyone, and the priests have not contacted me,’ he said.
When questioned whether he had submitted a report, he replied, ‘Are you referring to Petros Ghazaryan?’. To a clarifying question, Father Aram stated that besides that, no other report has been submitted: ‘What was submitted was an interview with Petros Ghazaryan, and I have no information on the remaining parts.’ Shortly after, news spread that based on Father Aram's statements, the Investigative Committee report was filed by Daniel Ioannissian, the coordinator of the IKM programs.
